My approach
Creating effective print and online publications is simple - if not always easy. The Green Party has fantastic, important things to say to all sections of society, from those in power to communities suffering under the Government's spiteful austerity measures. Our publications can help strengthen the Green Party’s relationships with existing supporters and enable us to reach new audiences.
If elected to the role of Green Party Executive Publications Co-ordinator, I would focus on the following:

If elected to the role of Green Party Executive Publications Co-ordinator, I would focus on the following:
- Define and understand our audiences
The Green Party needs to communicate with a wide range of people, who have different levels of awareness of us and what we stand for. Understanding these different audiences will enable us to target our publications to bring the maximum benefit to reader and producer. - Specify the purpose of our publications, for example...
Who are they for?
What do we want readers to do as a result?
What do we want each publication to achieve?
(And we should gather feedback on our publications to check whether they met their desired purpose) - Listen as well as tell
Communication is a two-way process. In line with the Green Party's strong democratic traditions, we should use our print and online publications to give voice to those who have points to make and questions to ask. - Align publications with campaigning
We can increase the impact of both through joint two-way planning in which our campaigning is designed to have maximum communication impact - and vice versa. - Support our publications staff
The Green Party's small publications team do a great job with limited resources. The GPEx Publications Co-ordinator needs to guide and support publications staff to enable them to reach their goals and develop in their roles. - Ensure diversity and equality in our publications
The Green Party is the only political party in England and Wales that genuinely aims to represent all sectors of society, regardless of age, gender, ethnicity, cultural background, religion, sexual orientation, disability or other origin or self-identification. Our publications must reflect this aim. - Tell a good story
We have a compelling vision of a fairer, more equal society. Our publications can bring that narrative to life.
